Frequently Asked Questions

(Because it's okay to ask — and we believe in clear, human answers.)

💬 What is Rolling Recovery?

Rolling Recovery is a peer-led, lived experience project born from survival, healing, and advocacy.
We provide trauma-informed resources, visual tools, and community-driven support to people navigating mental illness, disability, and housing insecurity — especially in rural Australia.

We’re not a service provider. We’re a movement. A patchwork of real people trying to make things a bit softer for others.

🧷 Who makes the cards and resources?

Everything is created by Narissa — a mum, artist, mental health advocate, and trauma survivor living in Gariwerd (Halls Gap).
All designs are based on real-life needs, lived experience, and years of supporting others through disability work, parenting, and the public mental health system.

🛒 Are your products professional or handmade?

Both, in a way. The content is professionally developed, trauma-informed, and built on lived experience expertise.
The physical products (like laminated DBT cards) are made in small batches at home. That means each order is packed with real care — not factory settings. Physical products are currently only available through local markets but we hope to bring them to the website soon!

💸 Why do some things cost money?

We keep prices as low as possible to make things accessible — and many resources are free.
The small amount we charge for card packs helps cover printing, laminating, packaging, and future advocacy work.
We also offer free downloads, and you’re welcome to reach out if cost is a barrier — no shame, no judgment.

🧾 Do you offer discounts for services or support workers?

Yes! If you're working in a school, clinic, peer team, or support space, email us. We’re happy to offer bundle deals, downloads, or custom packs based on what you need and can afford.

📮 How long does shipping take?

Most orders are packed and sent within 3–5 business days.
We’re a small family-run setup, so if there's a delay due to health or kids (life happens), we’ll keep you posted.

Some items may be printed from an outsourced printing service due to difficulties using my hands at times and minimising my work load until we have a bigger team.

📲 Can I print the cards myself?

Absolutely. We offer digital downloads you can print at home or in your service space. The only thing we ask is that you don’t resell them.
If you’re a support worker or teacher using them in groups, we love that — just please credit Rolling Recovery if sharing publicly.

🧠 Are you a qualified mental health professional?

No — and we’re proud to lead with lived experience.

While Narissa is not a registered clinician, She brings a deep mix of lived experience and frontline support work to everything she creates.

Narissa holds a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (valid through 2029), along with a Working With Children Check (WWCC), full police check and a Cert II in Community Services (AIET, 2011)

She previously worked as a disability day support worker, stepping down only due to transport restrictions — never wanting clients to miss out on community access and care. She has also supported families through mental health and neurodivergence, and completed a volunteer placement at Heidelberg Occasional Child Care, providing one-on-one support to both neurotypical and neurodivergent children.

Narissa is currently and actively engaging in training through platforms like Emerging Minds, MindSpot, and Blue Knot — to deepen her understanding of:

Chronic illness & mental health

Neurodiversity and trauma

Neuroplasticity and emotional regulation

Culturally safe and inclusive care

This learning supports her lived experience and ensures that the resources she creates through Rolling Recovery stay informed, respectful, and grounded in real care.

Rolling Recovery is built on lived experience, ethics, and safe practice.
We don’t offer therapy — but we do offer real tools, truth-telling, and solidarity.
